As part of our Sabres Decade in Review story running New Year's Day, I picked an all-decade team (with help from good friend and former Sabres reporter Tim Graham).
The depth chart for 2000 to 2010:
GOALTENDER
Ryan Miller
Dominik Hasek
DEFENSEMEN
Teppo Numminen-Jay McKee
Brian Campbell-Alexei Zhitnik
James Patrick-Jason Woolley
FORWARDS
Thomas Vanek-Daniel Briere-Miroslav Satan
Jochen Hecht-Chris Drury-J.P. Dumont
Tim Connolly-Derek Roy-Jason Pominville
Curtis Brown-Stu Barnes-Maxim Afinogenov
ENFORCER
Rob Ray
The tougest calls were Miller over Hasek (went with longevity and this year's numbers over Hasek's short dominance) and leaving Toni Lydman off the team. Patrick molded Campbell and was talented, while Woolley was better offensively. I also cheated a little by moving Connolly to left wing, but it was the only way he was making the team -- and I couldn't leave him off and put Erik Rasmussen on.
Now it's your turn to vote for a first team. Pick one each of LW, C, RW and G, and select two D.
