No encore for The Dominator

Dominik Hasek came back this season hoping to get one more moment of Olympic glory. The legendary Sabres and Czech Republic goaltender injured his thigh in October, though, and admitted a trip to Vancouver was "quite low."

The odds are now lower than that: He's not going.

Czech head coach Vladimir Ruzicka told CTVOlympics.ca that Hasek, who led the country to Olympic gold in 1998, will not be named to the team Wednesday.

"Dominik won't make the team," Ruzicka e-mailed the Web site. "We have other candidates for the goaltending job in the NHL. Since I've been asked about our goaltenders, I affirmed that Tomas Vokoun will be Czech's No.1 for the Olympics."
