The Canadiens are ninth in the East after Tuesday's 2-1 loss in Florida and now comes word from TSN of bubbling discontent in the locker room. Citing a Montreal radio report, the network says defenseman Andrei Markov confronted goaltender Carey Price after last week's home overtime loss to St. Louis and said, "If you are not going to play with heart, stay home. We don't need you here."
Yikes.
Price has, admittedly, been one of Montreal's top disappointments the last two years and you can easily make the case this year that Jaroslav Halak is the Habs' top goalie.
In 24 games, Halak is 14-8-1 with a 2.43 GAA and .927 save percentage. Price, meanwhile, is 11-16-4 in 32 games with a 2.73 GAA and .913 save percentage. Price is expected to get the start tonight in Tampa Bay after Halak played in the Florida game.
