MONTREAL -- So I was walking back to the hotel room after the conclusion of Team USA's semifinal win in the world juniors, and who do I see? The Buffalo Sabres.
The team went to the airport following Sunday afternoon's game for the quick flight to the B-Lo, but it had to return to the hotel after the plane had a snow-induced mishap. The problem happened before they boarded, so everyone is fine. But rather than getting back to Buffalo by 8:30 Sunday night, the Sabres aren't scheduled to leave Montreal until Monday morning.
Monday update: The Sabres arrived back in Buffalo in the 11 a.m. range and coach Lindy Ruff gave the team the day off.
