Lindy Ruff knew the Penguins were in for trouble. They recognized Sidney Crosby's Olympic contributions to the home crowd Tuesday, and the Americans in Pittsburgh hardly embraced their captain.
"I really thought it was going to be a bit of an uncomfortable situation," Ruff said today. "You’re not going to cheer that guy that beat the Americans, and I think that’s the way I looked at it. You might be patriotic first and a Penguins season ticket-holder second."
The Sabres' season ticket-holders get to honor the Olympians tonight. U.S. goalie Ryan Miller will have the roof blown off. Will Ruff, a Canadian assistant, get a mixed reaction?
"I told them not to mention my name, so I can’t get a bad reception," Ruff said.
