BOSTON -- Looking for any shred of info to grab on to that might point to a Sabres' win tonight? Here's one: The Bruins haven't closed a series on the ice at TD Garden since the opening round in 1999 against Carolina. They went on to lose in the second round to the Sabres.
The Bruins had not won a single playoff round since then until their first-round sweep of Montreal last season, and the 10-year drought equaled the longest in franchise history. And they know tonight's their night to clinch, lest they have to try to get the job done in Game Seven in HSBC Arena.
"This here tonight is the kind of game you play 82 games for," winger Blake Wheeler said. "We probably can't play any worse than we did [in Game Five] but we still get to come home and try to end it."
