Chara impressed with Myers

With a combined 13 feet, 5 inches of height between them, Zdeno Chara and Tyler Myers certainly stick out on the blue line. The 6-foot-9 Chara has noticed the 6-8 Myers for more than his height.

"He’s playing extremely well," the Bruins defenseman said today of his Buffalo counterpart. "He’s a hell of a skater for his size, and a puck mover. He’s got really outstanding patience with the puck. For sure, he’s going to be a hell of a player."

Chara, who is a Norris Trophy contender as best defenseman, didn't become a force until about his fifth NHL season. He's impressed Myers has done so well in his first.

"At his age I was nowhere near to his performance," Chara said. "I probably got better later on, but for a guy being a first-year guy and being in the league and earning a spot on the team and doing so well, that’s really impressive."
