BOSTON -- Both teams are going mostly with two defense pairs for major minutes in this series. Although there's an extra 27 minutes from Game Four skewing the numbers slightly, there are still monster time-on-ice averages being put up by these pairs through five games:
Tyler Myers (27:00) and Henrik Tallinder (23:45)
Toni Lydman (26:02) and Steve Montador (24:07)
Zdeno Chara (29:05) and Johnny Boychuk (25:27)
Dennis Wideman (25:37) and Matt Hunwick (23:56)
The only other blueliner in the series over 15 minutes is Boston's Andrew Ference at 15:12. For the Sabres, Andrej Sekera is averaging 14:18 and Craig Rivet is at 14:03.
"I feel great," Lydman said. "This is what I've been working toward since last summer and during the whole season. Being tired is not an issue right now and it can't be. If you're tired in the first round, imagine going all the way through four seven-game series."
