A few quick hits from Friday's journey to HSBC Arena:
*Nathan Gerbe has been returned to Portland. The winger had a goal and two assists in eight games after getting recalled March 29. He was scratched for Game One against Boston with Tim Connolly's return to the lineup.
*Center Derek Roy skipped practice for a "maintenance day," according to coach Lindy Ruff, but will be in the lineup Saturday.
*Though the building was empty, the memory of the bedlam from Thursday night remained with Ruff.
"My favorite part of this is watching the game film and catching the clips of the Party in the Plaza and the fans in the stands and the excitement that goes with it," Ruff said. "That’s the great part about it. That’s what you play the whole year for. The fans, they come to the building the whole year to see you get in the playoffs, and they’re going to enjoy that at the same time, too."
