Report: Zherdev headed to Philly
Nikolai Zherdev, the enigmatic Russian winger who was rumored to be involved with talks with the Sabres, is headed to the Philadelphia Flyers, according to ESPN's Pierre LeBrun.
Zherdev has topped 23 goals three times in the NHL, but he chose to spend last season with Mytishchi of the Kontinental Hockey League. LeBrun reports the deal with Flyers is for one year and will be signed today or Friday.
