LEWISTON -- The Sabres have put away the nets for their 2010 development camp, and as always the final order of business was coach Lindy Ruff's chat. The full audio is below, but some highlights from his talk:
*Camps like these are especially important for the organization because the Sabres, probably more than anyone else, build their team from within.
*Seeing Tyler Ennis and Tyler Myers strive to improve is important both for their careers and the other prospects.
*While the coach never likes losing players such as Henrik Tallinder and Toni Lydman, he is genuinely excited to see youngsters Chris Butler, Andrej Sekera and Mike Weber try to step into their defensive roles.
*The addition of Rob Niedermayer will have a Mike Grier-like impact.
*Bringing back Patrick Lalime as the backup goaltender is good for the dressing room and starter Ryan Miller.
*Zack Kassian has a lot of work to do.
*It's time for a summer break. (And I totally agree!)
