Butler, Miller in against Habs

The Sabres have completed their optional morning skate, and defenseman Chris Butler will replace injured Shaone Morrisonn in the lineup tonight when Montreal visits HSBC Arena.

"I think I've got a good opportunity, and I'm focused on making the best of it," Butler said today.

Ryan Miller will start the season with his fifth straight appearance in the Buffalo goal. Tonight is the 40th anniversary of the Sabres' first home game, played Oct. 15, 1970. Here is a clip from The Buffalo Evening News recapping the game, penned by Hockey Hall of Fame honoree Dick Johnston.
