SOMEWHERE AT 30,000 FEET BETWEEN ATLANTA AND DALLAS -- Luke Adam is back with the Sabres for the second time this week (and for the second time in his career). The center has been summoned from Portland for tonight's game against Dallas.
Adam is likely in for Nathan Gerbe, who took a super-wide slap shot from Tyler Myers in the left side of the jaw Friday. It happened late in the second period and Gerbe did not return. I saw him walking in the trainers' room following the game but since that area is off-limits he was unavailable for comment.
Adam made his NHL debut Tuesday in Philadelphia, and coach Lindy Ruff was impressed.
