The lines they are a changin'

The Sabres are on the ice in HSBC Arena, and the lines are nearly all new. The top line of Derek Roy in the middle of left wing Tyler Ennis and right wing Thomas Vanek remains intact, but the other three forward trios are different.

Jochen Hecht is centering for right wing Jason Pominville and left wing Nathan Gerbe, a scorer who is finally getting a shot on a scoring line. Paul Gaustad is flanked by right wing Mike Grier and left wing Colin Stuart, who was called up from Portland. Another call-up, Luke Adam, is between left wing Cody McCormick and right wing Patrick Kaleta.

The power-play units are: Pominville-Vanek-Gerbe, with Roy-Tyler Myers at the blue line; and Ennis-Gaustad-Adam, with Jordan Leopold-Andrej Sekera at the point.
