As one HSBC Arena wag just said, "so much for Jacques Lemaire's retirement." The New Jersey Devils are about to name Lemaire as their interim coach in the wake of firing embattled John MacLean just 33 games into his first season, as the Kovalchuks are mired at 9-22-2 and hopelessly out of the playoff race. It will be Lemaire's third time at the helm of the Devils.
Let's see if Lemaire can get through to the $100 million man, as Kovalchuk has just eight goals and 10 assists and is a minus-22. Lemaire will never stand for that stat.
