BUFFALO -- Buffalo Sabres Managing Partner Larry Quinn told reporters Wednesday the organization has no plans to make an announcement regarding the team "in the immediate future."
Quinn, during an afternoon news conference on the final day of the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship, said there is only one thing Sabres fans "need to know."
"The Buffalo Sabres are going to be here forever," Quinn told reporters when asked reports of a potential sale to businessman Terry Pegula. "And I think, from a fan's point of view, that's all they need to worry about."
Quinn, in remarks after the news conference, called Pegula a "great guy."
"I've known him for a long time," Quinn said. "And if he, in fact, does own this team some day, you'll be very happy with him."
