Sabres defenseman Steve Montador missed practice today in HSBC Arena after getting banged up in Saturday's 6-2 victory over Toronto. Coach Lindy Ruff said Montador will travel with the team to Tampa Bay today, but the coach isn't sure if the defenseman will be able to play Tuesday against the Lightning.
Montador played the entire game Saturday and was on the ice for the final shift.
Right wing Patrick Kaleta returned to practice without the cast that has covered his broken left hand since Dec. 28. He said he is ready to play Tuesday, but Ruff wasn't sure. The coach typically prefers running players through an intense practice or two before reinserting them in the lineup.
