NEW YORK -- Greetings from the World's Most Famous Arena, where the Sabres have finished their morning skate (well, everyone except healthy scratch Nathan Gerbe). The Sabres went on early because the Rangers skated elsewhere.
Newcomer Brad Boyes will play on a line with center Tim Connolly and left wing Tyler Ennis tonight against New York. The other lines during practice were: Thomas Vanek-Jochen Hecht-Drew Stafford; Rob Niedermayer-Paul Gaustad-Jason Pominville; and Patrick Kaleta-Cody McCormick-Mike Grier/Nathan Gerbe.
Defenseman Jordan Leopold returned to the ice for the first time since suffering an upper-body injury Friday against Ottawa. He said he is progressing and hopes it will be a short-term absence. He will not play tonight.
Below are this morning's chats with coach Lindy Ruff and Boyes.
