Coach Lindy Ruff: "It is huge. I’m not going to sidestep that one. It was a big win for us in this building. They win and it’s a lot different scenario in the standings. Us winning, that gave us a little bit of an edge again."
Defenseman Marc-Andre Gragnani: "It was tense. I thought the Rangers game was intense, then Washington, but this game was a step higher than the rest of them."
Goaltender Jhonas Enroth: "It was a fun game to play with all that’s on the line here. ... I respected [Washington on Saturday] a little bit too much. Today I just wanted to go out there and really show that I earned this spot here, just go out there and relax."
Defenseman Chris Butler: "Jhonas has been outstanding for us. To come into this environment, a playoff race, the chase that we’re in right now, for him to come in and play the way he has says a lot about his character and the type of goalie I think he’s going to be."
Carolina goalie Cam Ward: "We have no choice but to win hockey games and regroup after this. You strive to get two points, but any point this time of year is going to be huge. We certainly didn’t want to give them another point, but you’ve got to move on."
