History lesson

It's been widely reported the Sabres are 0-5 in the playoffs when trailing a series, 2-1, and the Flyers are 18-3 when leading by that count. But here's a deeper stat that shows the rugged path the Sabres are up against: They have only won three series in their history when trailing at any point.

1976: Lost opener of best-of-three at St. Louis. Won series, 2-1
1997: Trailed first-round series, 3-2, vs. Ottawa. Won series, 4-3
1999: Lost second-round opener at Boston. Won series, 4-2.
