Mike Richards will not be suspended by the NHL for his boarding of Sabres center Tim Connolly, Sportsnet.ca's Nick Kypreos is reporting. The Flyers' captain will be in the lineup for Game Seven on Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
The Sabres prepared for the deciding game with a loose practice today in HSBC Arena. Forwards Derek Roy and Jochen Hecht took part, with Roy scheduled to play (though coach Lindy Ruff let out a tease that he isn't sure if he'll use the center). Right wings Patrick Kaleta and Mike Grier missed practice because of injury, and Ruff was uncertain of their status for Tuesday.
Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller, who made 44 saves during Sunday's 5-4 overtime loss, wants his team to return to the tighter defense it played during his two shutouts.
