The New York Rangers have lost one of their key pieces, with forward Ryan Callahan breaking his ankle while blocking a shot Monday, TSN reports.
Callahan is second on the Rangers in goals (23) and points (48). The New York Times wrote about Callahan blocking Zdeno Chara's shot prior to learning of the injury. Seventh-place New York is just one point ahead of the Sabres in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
