The Washington Capitals are through to the second round and will have home-ice advantage but after they won't know anything else about their playoff situation until Tuesday or Wednesday.
As the Washington Post wrote Tuesday: "If Buffalo wins its series with Philadelphia, Washington plays the Sabres. If Philadelphia wins and the Canadiens can come back from down three games to two to capture their series against Boston, the Capitals get a rematch against Montreal. Or if both higher seeds Philadelphia and Boston win their respective series, Washington will face the winner of the Pittsburgh-Tampa Bay showdown."
Game Seven of that last series will be played Wedneday in Pittsburgh.
