BOSTON -- It's not exacty a party on the patio, but there an unmistakable buzz across Boston and the streets surrounding TD Garden. Bruins fans are jamming the restaurants and making the brutal daily commute out of town more miserable than usual.
The Fours in Boston -- one of the great spots for sports junkies -- had a 45-minute wait to get inside the door, and customers were told it would be another hour before being served. The bars were also busy around the Garden, which should be expected for the first Stanley Cup finals game in 21 years.
Fans were tempering their emotions with the Bruins being in a 2-0 series hole. Plus, there's a sense that Bostonians have been there, done that when it comes to championships. The Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics have won in recent years, but the Bruins last Cup was in 1972.
It was different in Vancouver for the first two games. The cops there blocked off an eight-block section, allowing fans to roam in the streets the way they did in the Olympics.
