The Sabres are practicing without Jochen Hecht today in First Niagara Center, as the veteran forward is nursing an injury.
Hecht left practice early Sunday after getting clipped near the mouth and needing stitches.
"A couple guys a little nicked up," coach Lindy Ruff said. "Jochen has missed a couple days, Brad Boyes has missed a couple days, with nothing but minor stuff. It looks like they should be back on the ice tomorrow."
Boyes, who was walking around the arena with a heating pad on his lower back, is back and taking part in the afternoon practice session.
