HELSINKI, Finland -- Tim Connolly was excited for his fresh start in Toronto, and he was eager to put his old injury label behind and be a top-line center with the Maple Leafs.
Instead, he'll start the season injured on the sidelines.
Connolly suffered a shoulder injury recently when he fell into the boards during practice, and he won't be ready to open the season with Toronto. The Leafs placed him on the injured-reserve list today (or yesterday, if you're in Finland).
