The NHL is looking at Jordin Tootoo's collision with Sabres goalie Ryan Miller, but the league has not yet decided whether to conduct a formal disciplinary hearing with the Nashville forward, The News has learned.
Tootoo earned a five-minute major for charging and a game misconduct when he barreled over Miller in the crease during the second period of Saturday's 3-2 victory by Buffalo. Tootoo said he tried to avoid Miller but nonetheless expected to hear from the league. NHL disciplinarian Brendan Shanahan is flying to California today for the league's board of governors meetings. The Predators don't play again until Tuesday when they host Phoenix, giving the league at least one more day to decide whether a fine or suspension should be issued.
"That's not a part of the game," Sabres right wing Zack Kassian said. "You don't want that [stuff] in the game. It's a man's game, you play it hard, but you don't run goalies."
