The Sabres got back to practice today in First Niagara Center and the mood was understandably somber after their lost weekend. They know the math is simple: Win the three remaining games, starting Tuesday against Toronto, and get help.
"I'd be stupid to think any other way," said coach Lindy Ruff.
"That's a safe bet," added Ryan Miller. "Just win and take care of our business. The focus becomes Tuesday. We had a tough weekend, didn't do what we needed to do or play the way we needed to play. We have to do the job now and see how it falls."
Ruff said Christian Ehrhoff (knee) will miss the last three games but would likely be available for the playoffs if the Sabres sneak in. Myers might play later this week. Mike Weber, injured Friday against Pittsburgh, could play tomorrow. Matt Ellis (knee) has also been cleared and Nathan Gerbe is getting closer.
