Sabres set to open training camp with scrimmage Monday evening

The Sabres will open training camp Monday, and it should be intense from the start.

Buffalo will conduct a scrimmage at 5:30 p.m. Monday in First Niagara Center, with the team playing three 15-minute periods. Admission and parking in the arena ramp will be free, and there will be "family friendly" concession prices.

The Sabres will practice from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. Those sessions are also open to the public.

The Sabres will conduct physicals and on-ice testing this weekend, and those are closed events.

Buffalo is expected to begin the season at home against Philadelphia at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 20. The schedule will likely be released Saturday morning.
