OTTAWA -- The Sabres' struggling defense could be without its most consistent player tonight.
Christian Ehrhoff took only a few twirls around the rink in Scotiabank Place this morning before retreating to the dressing room. Coach Lindy Ruff confirmed on his WGR radio show this morning that Ehrhoff has a muscle strain that kept him out of practice Monday.
Andrej Sekera, who got hurt Saturday in Montreal, made the trip but only rode a bike this morning and did not go on the ice with the rest of the team.
The Sabres' six defenseman are Tyler Myers, Jordan Leopold, Mike Weber, Alexander Sulzer, T.J. Brennan and Adam Pardy, who was recalled Monday night from Rochester.
The Sabres' lines at the morning skate are Thomas Vanek-Cody Hodgson-Jason Pominville, the reunited Marcus Foligno-Tyler Ennis-Drew Stafford, Steve Ott-Mikhail Grigorenko-Jochen Hecht, and John Scott-Cody McCormick/Matt Ellis-Nathan Gerbe.
One member of the fourth line will be scratched, likely Ellis.
