The Chicago Blackhawks' remarkable point streak ended Friday night at 24 games with a 6-2 loss in Denver to the Colorado Avalanche. A half season with no regulation losses. 21-0-3. That's just plain sick. The Sabres, by comparison, have just six regulation wins so far in 25 games!!
Nice game story here by Mark Lazerus of the Sun-Times talking about the end of the "silly season" with LeBron James tweeting about the streak and ESPN blatherers going on ad nauseum about its validity (Memo to Stephen A. Smith: No ties in the NHL since 2004, dude).
Also ended was the Hawks' franchise-record 11-game winning streak and 30 straight games with a point dating to last season. Here's my favorite stat, helped along by the lockout: The Hawks had not lost in regulation since March 25, 2012 -- almost a year!!

Also from the Hawks' day in Denver, former Sabres defenseman Steve Montador took the morning skate with his Chicago teammates and then talked about his year-long road back from a concussion, which included lots of anxiety and depression.
