WASHINGTON -- Ryan Miller was understandably annoyed I asked him about Patrick Kaleta in the wake of another frustrating loss. Kaleta didn't play in the game and that kind of question is thus usually a no-go in a postgame setting.
But when Kaleta popped off about being scratched earlier Sunday, the rest of the team had already left after their morning skate. This was the first chance to get reaction so I asked. And Miller certainly reacted.
Pretty obvious that there's still residual anger in the locker room over the Kaleta shove on Brad Richards, a foolish play that cost the Sabres a game and cost Kaleta five of them. Miller and Jason Pominville both denied the players pushed interim coach Ron Rolston to further punish Kaleta (" You guys think we have way more power than we got, man," Miller scolded me).
But it's clear they had no problem with Kaleta staying in the press box. We'll see how this plays out Tuesday in Montreal but it's safe to say Miller's comments on Kaleta are making big news on Twitter, in the blog world and especially in Canada.
