T.J. Brennan's hot start in Rochester didn't translate to Buffalo. He'll get another chance to find his offense in Florida.
The Sabres have traded the defenseman to the Panthers for a fifth-round draft pick in June's draft. Brennan has been Buffalo's seventh or eighth defenseman for most of the season after leading the Amerks in goals and points during the lockout.
Brennan was unlikely to clear waivers, so getting a late-round pick for the pending restricted free agent appeared to be the Sabres' best option. Brennan was selected in the second round, 31st overall, in the 2007 draft.
