What to watch for as Sabres visit Kings

By John Vogl

CULVER CITY, Calif. -- The Sabres are set for their first game in Los Angeles since Jan. 21, 2010. Here are some things to know and watch for:

*Anze Kopitar has 10 points in the last seven games (three goals, seven assists) and four points in the last two games.

*Mike Richards has six points in the last six games (three goals, three assists).

*The Kings have won three of the last four games at home.

*The Kings have outshot the opponent in 13 of 15 games and have topped opponents by 101 shots this season (494-393).

*Los Angeles has sold out 58 straight regular-season games (Dec. 3, 2011, to present). Longest regular-season sellout streak in club history is 66 (Dec. 8, 1990, to Oct. 8, 1992).

*The Sabres are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games versus the Kings but 2-6-2 in the last 10 road games.

*This is the 114th game between Buffalo and Los Angeles, and the Sabres have a 55-39-19 series record.

*Cody Hodgson has 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in his last 15 games, one point fewer than his career-best 14 points (five goals, nine assists) in the 15 games from Jan. 31-Feb. 28 2012.

*The Sabres are looking to win consecutive road games against the Kings for the first time since their wins in Los Angeles on March 12, 1994, and March 13, 1996.

*Drew Stafford (featured today here) has five points (three goals, two assists) in four career games against the Kings.

*Ryan Miller is 4-1-1 in seven appearances against the Kings in his career with a .931 save percentage and a 2.38 goals against average.
