And now back to our regularly scheduled programming.
After Blizzard 2014 forced Tuesday night's game between Carolina and Buffalo to be nixed for safety reasons, the Sabres were back at practice Wednesday afternoon preparing for Thursday night's game against the Florida Panthers at First Niagara Center.
"Coming from Northern Ontario, seeing weather like that, you know it’s not too good. ... One extra day off certainly isn’t going to hurt," Sabres interim coach Ted Nolan said.
The extra day might be good for the Sabres who have four players on injured reserve with two others out of the lineup the last two games.
Ville Leino and Cody Hodgson practiced with the team in red non-contact jerseys but Nolan said neither will be available for tomorrow's game.
When asked about Tim Murray, the assistant GM for the Ottawa Senators reported to be the choice for the Sabres top job, Nolan dodged comment saying he didn't talk about the details of the GM search with Pat LaFontaine, president of hockey operations.
"All that stuff, I just really want to concentrate on the team and Pat and I have had no discussions about that whatsoever and I prefer it that way," Nolan said.
