OTTAWA -- Pete Weber, the longtime play-by-play announcer for the Bisons who also spent two years doing Sabres games, is resting comfortably after a heart attack today.
Weber, who is in his 15th season as the voice of the Nashville Predators, underwent a successful heart procedure in Minnesota, the team said in a statement. He will remain in St. Paul for the next few days before returning to Nashville.
"Thanks to all for your wishes!" Weber wrote on Twitter this afternoon. "Resting comfortably in St Paul, close to Tom Reid's bar!"
Weber, a member of the Buffalo Baseball Hall of Fame, did play-by-play for the Bisons from 1983 to '95. He was the Sabres' radio announcer from 1995 to '97. He's also done work for the Bills and the University at Buffalo.
