Canadiens achieve goal of silencing Bruins, though Lucic talks plenty in handshake line

By John Vogl

The Canadiens felt disrespected by Boston throughout their second-round series, and that continued right through the handshake line after the Habs ended the Bruins' season.

Milan Lucic had some choice words for Dale Weise and Alexei Emelin after Montreal's 3-1 win in Game Seven.

“That’s said on the ice so it’ll stay on the ice, so if he wants to be a baby about it, he can make it public,” Lucic said of Weise.

While Weise brought up the incident, he didn't say exactly what was exchanged. Others figured it out.

Either way, Montreal gets to do its talking in the next round. The Habs will play the New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference final, with Game One set for Saturday afternoon.

"To be able to do that accomplishment, to beat the Boston Bruins in Game Seven in their building, I believe those guys have earned some respect," Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said of his players.

In the West, Los Angeles held off Anaheim to force a Game Seven on Friday in Anaheim.
