Searchable database: Find and compare teacher salaries for districts in state

Sort our searchable database showing the 2012-13 median salaries for public school teachers in New York State. The database also lists the salaries for rookie teachers who earn less (5th percentile), as well as veteran teachers near the top of their income group (95th percentile).

The information was compiled by the Empire Center for Public Policy and based on state data. We last posted a blog based on this information Jan. 27. That blog included an at-a-glance chart of median salaries for school districts in Erie and Niagara counties over the last seven years, as well as Erie and Niagara county averages.

As noted by the Empire Center for Public Policy, the median salary for teachers in Western New York was $62,697, compared with $72,990 statewide.

You can sort this database by county, school district and income range. To select more than one county or school district, hold down the control key on PCs, or the command key on Macs. NOTE: The state data for 2012-13 is missing for some school districts, including Buffalo, Depew, Lackawanna, and North Collins in Erie County.
