Coming Up

For those of you seeking a tune-up for next week's Turkey Trot, you'll have that opportunity Saturday morning at 11. The "Trottin' With Jesus 5K Run" will be held at Grace Lutheran Church in Hamburg. Pastor Garry Seefeldt seems to spending almost as much time on running than he does on the parish flock; this is his third race of the year.

The race goes to benefit the Buffalo Implant Group (BIG). Its president is Joe Kolis, who sent this note along about his organization:

"We are a group that provides support to hearing impaired individuals and families who choose the Cochlear Implant to manage their deafness. My 9-year-old daughter is deaf and uses cochlear implants. Thankfully, she does very well with them. We are lucky to have this technology available to us. ... Grace Lutheran Church in Hamburg organizes the run and designated our group as the beneficiary of the proceeds. Thus, the more runners we have the more funds we raise for our group and the
support we provide to our members."
