February 28, 2010 - The world was watching when the United States and Canada got together to play for the gold medal at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver. It was a Buffalo Sabre who attracted the most attention.
Goalie Ryan Miller had been superb in leading the United States to the championship game against Canada. He was at it at again that Sunday afternoon, keeping Team USA close.
Zach Parise scored with 24.4 seconds left in regulation to tie the score, 2-2. That sent it to overtime.
There Sidney Crosby thrilled a nation - the nation of Canada. He beat Miller through the legs in overtime to send the U.S. home with a silver medal.
"I knew we lost, and you just feel miserable," Miller said afterwards.
Even so, Miller came out of the game more acclaimed than ever for his work. He went to win the Vezina Trophy as the National Hockey League's best goalie.
