Grab an oar...

There's no sitting back and waiting for the Buffalo Niagara region to reinvent itself.LOC Leveraging event Everyone has to grab an oar and pull.
That was the subtle message out of Thursday's seminar on leveraging the region's medical and university assets.
Robert G. Shibley, dean of UB's School of Architecture and Planning, summed it up best:
"If you're waiting for the (UB) medical school to create the economic benefit all by itself, it probably isn't going to happen, because what they're really good at is research and teaching."
Translation: everyone is going to have to help. It's a theme First Niagara CEO John Koelmel has trumpeted.
