Ad man to poke holes in ad culture

Bob Hoffman, an advertising executive known for his blog the Ad Contrarian, will speak in Buffalo Sept. 26.

Hoffman is slated to dispel false truths in advertising with his presentation, "The Golden Age of BS."

The talk is part of the Buffalo Advertising Club's Ad Week and is sponsored by The Buffalo News. Tickets are $25 for members, $45 for non-members. The program begins at 7 p.m. at the Karpeles Manuscript Museum, 453 Porter Avenue.

Now an author and partner at Type A Group, Hoffman has been behind ads for some of the world's biggest brands, including Pepsi, McDonald's and Chevrolet.
