Live Chat With Jerry Sullivan

Welcome to this week's live chat. I'm sure there will be lots to say about our stumbling professional teams. Of course, any topic is fair game, including basketball, of course.

Thanks for participating in the live chat. See you next week. It won't be on Thanksgiving Day, so I'm guessing it will be Friday. Keep an eye on the paper for advance notice.

Sam... another good coaching choice would be the former Baltimore Ravens coach, Brian Billick.

He too has a Super Bowl ring, and he demands his men to play with fire and passion.

And, in all-time, head-to-head between him and Cowher, I believe Billick has a slight edge, or at least he holds his own.

Ralph needs to realize he can't take it with him. SPEND THE D__N MONEY, Ralph!

Someone has to pay for this meltdown, and it starts with the coach.

Even Russ Brandon indicated it was unacceptable. Jerry's column in the Buffalo News stated,
"They're staring down the barrel of 6-10, and someone will have to pay. "It's unacceptable," said Russ Brandon, the chief operating officer. "We're very disappointed."
I asked Brandon if "unacceptable" applied to the head coach, who is under fire in the media and the community.

"I think everybody should be under fire in the organization," Brandon said."

Jauron has to pay. He has to go. The season was over three games ago.

He put in Lostman when the third stringer was a better choice knowing Losman's ineptitude.

What a wasted season. This has got to be one of the biggest busts ever in the NFL, and the first 5-1 team to not make the play offs.

So the question remains, since coaching OBVIOUSLY makes a difference, who will the next coach of the Bills be. It has to be a coach with experience and who has some fire in his belly and not the cerebral type like Jauron.

My top two choices in order of preference:

1) The former coach of the Steelers - Mr. Bill Cowher
2) The second choice is Marty Shottenheimer

Both have experience, and Cowher in particular has a tough defence and grind it out run and pass offence that is suited to the Bills talent and makeup. BUT he brings attitude and demand for wins. Something the Bills lack. What we need is Mr. Wilson to pay top dollar for a great coach, which he refuses to do.

If Mr. Wilson wants to go cheap and get a coach with attitude and grit and some fire, he could promote Bobby April to head coach. That would bring an attitude adjustment, and get some fire and passion into the game again.

Personally I am counting the days until Jauron is fired.

It is time for a change. Sunday was the first game I could not watch after half time. I knew the Bills would lose.

Also, I am a Bills fan since 1967, right here in Canada, but I refuse to support the Bills games in Toronto. I live 45 minutes for Toronto, and hate the city and despise it as much as I hate the Leafs and Raptors and Argos. I would rather go to a game at the Ralph and enjoy it with the real Bills fans in Buffalo. I hate this deal with Rogers.

Sully...why don't you start a movement with the city school system to rename the Harvard Cup game the Borelli Bowl? Seems a fitting tribute to a guy who gave his live to high school football...

About time someone criticized Bills' bumbling coach(s). Jaron is like a "deer in the headlights" on the sideline during games, and our play calling is "horrific" to say the least.
