Bad Night All Around
TORONTO -- Pretty bad night all-around for the Bills, who lost 19-13 to the Jets in a game that could have been a lot worse. This should dash any of fanciful hopes that fans had of the Bills running off three in a row and heading into the New England game with a 6-7 record.
A few sobering developments:
Ryan Fitzpatrick came back to Earth after his two solid outings, looking again like a career backup. Anyone who thought Fitzpatrick might be the long-term answer at quarterback, think again.
Terrell Owens ran into an elite cornerback after feasting on rookies his previous two games. Darrelle Revis owned him. Of course, Revis has shut down every top wideout he's faced this year.
Perry Fewell didn't have many answers. His defense got run over for the second time against the Jets. It's a wonder they managed to split with them. This should douse some of the enthusiasm for Perry as the long-term answer. It's clear that this team needs big changes, starting at the top.
Playing a home game in Toronto against an AFC East foe is a horrible idea. Playing here, period, is brutal. But it's shameful that the Bills could allow 567 yards in two games against the Jets and never have the luxury of facing them on their actual home field.
