Trade Him for a Third

The Bills conducted a three-day minicamp last week, and there was no sign of Marshawn Lynch. This comes after a Yahoo Sports column in which Lynch said he wanted to prove he could still be a major factor in the NFL. Lynch said he would participate in some of the Bills' organized team activities this spring, but last week's team sessions apparently weren't what he had in mind.

Meanwhile, there have been reports that trade talks might heat up with Seattle after the Seahawks released veteran LenDale White. I agree with my colleague, Allen Wilson. This would be a great time to trade Lynch. The Seahawks are looking for a big back and Lynch fits the bill.

It's hard to believe the Seahawks would offer a second-round pick for Lynch at this point. He is one indiscretion away from a major suspension. The Bills took C.J. Spiller with their first-round pick. They have a reliable back in Fred Jackson. It's pretty clear that Lynch doesn't figure in their long-range plans. People can talk all they want about a three-back attack in Buffalo. There's no room for all three guys to co-exist -- espeically when one of the three has off-field troubles and doesn't want to be here.

The Bills should jump if Seattle offers so much as a third-rounder for Lynch. I had a hard time believing they turned down a third-rounder before this, as reported in last week's Yahoo story. They would lucky to get that much for Lynch. Buddy Nix has to take the initiative as a general manager and get Lynch out of town.
