OLEAN -- I'm at St. Bonaventure for the men's first-ever A-10 meeting with Virginia Commonwealth. It's a tough time for the Bonnies to run into the Rams, who have won 10 in a row and are on the verge of breaking into the AP Top 25. Bona has lost four straight games, all by at least 19 points. It's the first time they have lost four in a row by that wide a margin since 1990-91.
That's pretty amazing, when you consider some of the brutal squads Bona has fielded during that time. Today, they will try to avoid losing five straight games by double digits for the first time in school history.
VCU hasn't lost a beat since making its amazing run to the Final Four two years ago under young head coach Shaka Smart. They lead the country in steals and assist-to-turnover ration. The Rams are deep and quick and hell on opposing guards with their "Havoc" style of play. It would be a big win if they could pull it off today in the Reilly Center.
