MacKenzie-Childs Barn Sale!

DSC0197.2Any plans this weekend? Looking for a road trip? Fans of MacKenzie-Childs' handcrafted ceramic tableware and more might be interested to know that the Finger Lakes company is having a Barn Sale this weekend at its headquarters, a 65-acre farm one mile north of the village of Aurora, N.Y.

That is Aurora, mind you. Not East Aurora. And it is a bit of a hike from Buffalo - about 2 1/2 hours. But the company promises savings of 50 to 80 percent off original retail prices on selected merchandise.

The Barn Sale will feature more than 30,000 products including: handcrafted ceramics, enamelware, glass, furniture, etc. Merchandise will include high-quality seconds and discontinued items, according to a press release.

Thousands of shoppers are expected to attend, and there are tours, live music, food.

Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday (June 12-14). For more information and directions, visit www.mackenzie-childs.com/barnsale (where you can see a video from last year's sale).

Hello Susan! I will be heading OUT
of East Aurora at 5:00 am to
Aurora and the barn sale!
I remember well, the frenzied
lunacy of it all, years ago
when I attended! Don't know
what to expect now with the
current ownership of the company, but it used to be
UNBELIEVABLE deals! We are
going to celebrate a friends
birthday, and know we will have fun even if we don't travel home with a dining room set on the roof ( yes, my mom DID do that!) Hope you
have a great weekend! Will let you know how it goes!!
