Our family vacation is over. School is about to begin. Before long, I'll get the itch to decorate the porch for fall.
On the door, I'll hang the beautiful silk spray of cattails, Chinese lanterns, berries and leaves I bought two years ago from Trillium's Courtyard florist in Snyder.
I'll plop some colorful mums in big terra-cotta pots then tie a few stands of raffia around the pots for a nice touch. And they'll be an assortment of pumpkins, of course.
I'll do all this soon. But not quite yet.
In the meantime, here are just a couple of simple decorating tips I came across from Woman's Day, to get you in an autumnal mood:
* Toss a chenille throw across the end of the sofa.
* Display branches gathered from your back yard in a tall glass vase.
* Replace white and beige lampshades with deeper hues, like chocolate, bronze or gold-
