Here's another way to celebrate Barbie's 50th birthday (you DID know she turned 50 this year, didn't you?). "Happy Chic" interior designer Jonathan Adler this fall introduces a home furnishings collection inspired by our gal, reports the Washington Post.
Think lots of Barbie pink with touches of black and white. Items from the collection include pillows, lacquered accessories including trays, pottery pieces and more.
It will be available at www.jonathanadler.com and Jonathan Adler stores in New York City and elsewhere. Or visit www.BarbieCollector.com to see the Barbie Jonathan Adler Doll and doll-size pieces inspired by his real ones.
Earlier this year, Adler designed a real-life Malibu Dream House overlooking the Pacific Ocean -- site of her 50th Birthday Bash. The mirror here -- showing Adler and the 65 Barbie dolls he used to create it -- was just one of the items in the house.
In June, a Barbie suite he designed at the Palms Casino Resort in La Vegas opened to the public and includes decor from the Malibu pad. Are you following all this? Anyway, the suite is described as "the ultimate bachelorette pad." You can check that out at www.palms.com
Ken, by the way, is missing from ALL of this.
