NFL Network's consolation prize
The NFL Network is coming to Western New York --for an hour a week anyway. MyNetwork TV, which is carried by WNYO-TV in Buffalo, announced today that it will be carrying the hour-long program, "NFL Network: Total Access" at 9 p.m. Saturdays beginning Sept.8. The program, which previews upcoming games and airs segments from other shows on the Network, features host Rich Eisen and former NFL stars Marshall Faulk and Rod Woodson.
The deal is a minor consolation prize for Western New York football fans with cable, who lost The NFL Network when Time Warner took over local systems from Adelphia before the 2006 season.
Last week, a Time Warner spokesperson said the local system wasn't planning on a corporate deal with The NFL Network being made any time soon.

The inability of Time Warner to strike a deal with the NFL network is a disgrace. It flies in the face of consumer demand. I just refuse to believe they can't find a way to pay for it when they charge such ridiculous rates for cable. They do not deserve the monopoly over cable delivery they have.

The NFL network is a joke. I don't need to see the NFL make even more money off of their product by now trying to broadcast a few games. The price to keep the network would have each cable subscriber a couple extra bucks a month which is a joke. They would let Time Warner negotiate a "sports package".
The 8 games they broad cast on Thursday's this year won't get me excited at all. I hope nobody watches those games and the network goes bust.
In response to Timothy's statement about Bills ticket sales struggling....I was wondering if he has any clue what he is talking about? The Bills (who haven't made the playoffs in something like 10 years) are close to selling out the whole year. Watching a useless game on a Thursday night has no effect on Bills tickets.
